There is something in the way that things fall into place so elegantly when there is a mess all around.
The car stops abruptly. She wipes away the tears of yesterday. He is trying to figure out just what happened upstairs and why she ran out of the house so quickly. He tells her that she deserves better and she simply agrees ad gives him a mediocre smile. But then she pauses and exhales the smokeof the new pack she bought. She lit two at once because she thinks it is poite and courteous to light someone else's butt. She also needed some extra toxic this morning She was ridding herself of another so she needed to substitute it with something else. Who can blame her? She has been on that old habit for way too long.
And it only took her a few years and a few heartbreaks to realize she was breaking his heart not hers. She never allowed herself to fully open her heart. This stranger. This cute, adorable stranger saw her beauty in all her pain and all in her face. Yet he made her smile. She would be okay. She would find a brighter picture to this horrible start of the day. Maybe he gave her a ride because he pitied her. But why did he compliment her? Maybe he kissed her because he felt sorry for her. But why did he kiss her so gently. Like she needed to be kissed that way.
Maybe she would never know. But she will find out. She wil find out how every moment comes a new beginning. And how everything is clear when she is totally obliterated with ignorance and confusion. That is when she can finally see how everything looks.
